TO BLOG OR NOT TO BLOG

Have you ever wanted to do something, but decided not to do it because everyone else was doing it?

Did you keep going back to it month after month still coming up with excuses not to do it?

Has the thought, "That's it, let's do this" ever crossed your mind?

Hi, I'm Danielle, and I did it.
Nice to meet you!

I really am this excited in real life about most things.
Some things.  Food things.

Just kidding - this is a fashion blog!
...For now. ;)

So let's go back to the beginning - why write a fashion blog when it seems like everyone and their crop-top wearing, high-waisted shorts bearing, #ootd sharing mother is a selfie-queen/self-proclaimed fashionista?

Here are a few reasons:

1. Small town girl, uptown style
...or downtown. Whatever play-on-words gets the point across.

2. Sharing what happens when passion and creativity come together can only be a good thing
... a.k.a. because I'm passionate about my style I have to get creative
when I have 5 minutes left till I've missed that 10-minute window
of being "acceptably late" for work.

3. People seem to dig what I wear.

Let me explain those in a little bit more detail...

1. Small town girl, uptown style

I know it's so cliche you can hear Journey singing in the background as Plain Jane from Maine rolls up to Fifth Avenue in a Greyhound bus with a mothball-smelling suitcase full of the style that the people she left behind just couldn't understand. Tune Journey out for a second and hear me out.

I really am a small town girl.  I am so Central Pennsylvania, that my job is to produce a TV show all about it.  Not kidding, but I love it and that's all that matters.

I live in an area where being "dressed-up" means adding heels to your tightest jeans and most flattering t-shirt.  That's just the way it is, and although it's frustrating, I get it.

I'm blessed to live in a rural county that holds onto simple living, family first, and modest values,
but darn it if I want to wear hot pink lipstick and stilettos to church on Sunday and the grocery store on Monday...

I'm going to do it.

2. Passion + Creativity = Great Things

So, why wouldn't I share that?
I'm not going to lie, my Pinterest closet is 500x the size of my real one so a lot of my inspiration comes from there, but most of the time I just need that little spark to come up with something that makes me feel like I look awesome.

Some days I feel edgy and rock and roll.
Other days I want to channel my inner Southern Belle.
Most days, I wear blazers and statement necklaces.
Whatever day it is, I love the confidence a killer outfit gives me.
[And I think you should have that too.]

3. People Dig It

Short and sweet, they like what they see.

Do you?

That's pizza. Everybody likes pizza.

I think that answers the question.

(PS - This was in Italy. I don't just take pictures with pizza all willy-nilly.)

Now that we've reached the end of this first post you might be asking,
"If you're a fashion blogger, why are there no outfit pictures?"
Get to know me first.
If you don't like my style, maybe you'll like my personality.

So welcome to Cheap. Chic. Repeat.!
May my fashion-sense be ever in your favor.
